Every year, health systems miss millions of people with TB because of barriers to health services, human rights violations, stigma, and a lack of access to support services. The feedback from people affected by TB on these barriers is not systematically collected and used to respond to their specific needs and priorities. In return, community-led monitoring for accountability empowers and engages people affected by TB to know their rights and to report the barriers that prevent them from being diagnosed, treated, and cared for. This information is then used by communities and national TB Programs to address these gaps and challenges and to reach those who have been left behind. TB community-led monitoring is an essential component of TB accountability ensuring UNHLM TB targets and commitments are met.
OneImpact is the Stop TB Partnership innovative solution that facilitates community-led monitoring for accountability in TB response. Conceptualized and built by Stop TB Partnership, it is an open source public good, made up of tools that work together to provide a comprehensive community engagement, community empowerment and community-led monitoring for a better TB response at country level. Through the Challenge Facility for Civil Society, the Stop TB Partnership is providing grants and technical support to implement, adapt, integrate and scale-up community-led monitoring innovations in countries, transforming national TB responses to be people-centered, rights-based, gender transformative and community-led.
