No More Siloes - Ending Drug-Resistant TB and Antimicrobial Resistance by 2030!

NEWS ALERT - 17 September 2024

Geneva, Switzerland - The high-level week of the United Nations General Assembly starts in less than a week. The Stop TB Partnership will be back in New York and host three side events on the sidelines of the United Nations High-Level Meeting (HLM) on antimicrobial resistance (AMR), and offer platforms to discuss the progress, achievements and challenges against the targets set in 2023 TB Political Declaration while creating insightful discussions on how fighting AMR will accelerate the fight against TB.

A strong delegation of TB and drug-resistant TB survivors and civil society will lead and join these events.

The side events are being organized on 24th and 25th September 2024 and co-hosted with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, Indonesia’s Ministry of Health, Philippines Department of Health and Tajikistan’s Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Population.

While all three are in-person events, Stop TB Partnership will livestream two events on its official YouTube and Facebook channels. A complete list of all the events is below.

Through various funding mechanisms, the Stop TB Partnership is supporting a strong delegation of over 20 civil society partners who, during the week, will take part in several advocacy activities. During the UNHLM on AMR, they will ensure that the voices of the TB  and DR-TB communities and survivors are heard and they will share a clear and strong message with member states that to tackle AMR, the world needs to end TB.
