As the UN member states prepare to convene and vote on the final draft of the Political Declaration on AMR during the UN-HLM on AMR on 26th September, the Stop TB Partnership is using this critical moment to bring together global health leaders from the governments, donors, civil society, researchers and academia to identify the priority actions needed to put the world on track to end TB and AMR, and outline how the AMR and TB communities can work together from the global to the local level to advance action.
The event will also focus on increasing the understanding among leaders, policymakers and stakeholders about the need for increasing investments and collaboration on AMR and DR-TB research and implementation. It also aims to demonstrate the TB community’s leadership in the fight against AMR by bringing the TB and AMR community together to discuss alignment, areas for increased collaboration, and how the TB response can advance action on AMR.
