Individual Support for Each Patient
A letter from Peter Owiti of Wote Youth Development (Kenya)
Brian, a 20-year old high-school graduate from Kenya fell ill with tuberculosis. Fortunately he was diagnosed early and is now receiving assistance from the Wote Youth Development project. Peter Owiti, the project director, wrote to the challenge facility:
"Brian was tested and found sero-negative for HIV. Through the Stop TB Partnership Brian will have the option to have the assistance from a community treatment supporter who will support him in taking his drugs regularly. Brian and other like him are grateful to the unseen donor (Stop TB's Challenge Facility for Civil Society). It is my duty to make sure Brian and others do not die of TB."
