Organization Description:
Wote Youth Development Projects was established as an advocacy group for HIV/AIDS in 2002 using participatory interactive media mode.The youth use drama,skits, dance, role plays and football for ACSM.Most of the funding is generated from donors and some come from annual registrations and subscriptions from the members.The youth are also involved in income generating activities using a revolving fund used to give loans against savings.each member allocates 300hrs of work a year to do service to the community.Currently we are implementing a CFCS TB project with STOP TB Partnership as Ambassadors of Hope

Wote Youth Development Projects is a member of District Stake Holder forum that coordinates all health programmes in the district.We upholdsthe principle of 3 ones and that means all our reports are channeled to one coordinating body NTP. We are currently implementing the Global fund round 9 on TB as sub sub recipient.We also plan together for the countries strategic plan 2012-2015

Please tell us how your organization will contribute to the Global Plan to Stop TB by briefly describing its involvement in any of the areas of work listed below:

TB Care Delivery:
We are on DOTS expansion under global fund round 9 where we trace patients who have not been able to collect their drugs,we trace those who are exposed as a result of being in contact with patients,community sensitization on the symptoms of TB and the need to seek medical help if the signs are indicating symptoms ,teaching community health workers to volunteer o sputum collection and delivery to the nearest diagnostic centers.Under KNCV/KANCO programme we are involved in advocacy and social mobilization using drama dance and songs to entertain and educate community.We have small and large group meetings where we pass key messages on child TB,support stakeholders forum which we are part of ,improve linkages,strengthen health system and coordinating environment.

We have integrated TB/HIV activities both at the facilities and in the field. At the facility the volunteer give health talks for both patients,do medical triaging for both and at the field combined tracing of those who have not collected drugs,joined social social mobilization and community outreaches and refferrals
