Contribution

Please tell us how your organization will contribute to the Global Plan to Stop TB by briefly describing its involvement in any of the areas of work listed below:

TB Care Delivery:
We plan to contribute through networking with the Voice of Children International (VOCI.), at the Obinagu-Uwani, Primary Health Care Center (PHC), Akpugo, in Nkanu-West Local Government Area among other development partners in the field. Some of our contributions so far was funded by the Family Health International (FHI/GHAIN)-HSS Project, from Awka Anambra State Zonal Office, between first of August, 2010 and present We are also helping to strengthening programs for the protection of (0-5) zero to five years Children and pregnant Women in the society through Educating and mobilizing the Community of the need/essence of TB Eradication Treatment and control. And finally encourage DOTS Expansion and Enhancement- Includes advocacy community's and society mobilization

TB-HIV:
We contributes through holding bi-monthly meetings on TB-HIV and Expansion program. We also Work with Community Volunteers by using them in visiting of places, homes and reaching the needy among others, including persons affected/infected by TB-HIV. Others are plans for creating awareness, stigma reduction activities, voluntary counseling and testing to mention but a few.

Laboratory Strengthening:
We encourage community out reach activities, early sputum x3 testing and supporting of Laboratory Strengthening by Educating the affected/infected persons where to go and what to do at appropriate time

New Diagnostics:
Our major contribution is to help track and or treat any early cases of TB and also plan to report new cases as they come.

Fundamental Research:
In our contribution and plans,we don't quarrel with any old research. But we plan to create some real new ideas/innovations to ease fundamental research towards TB eradication and control at grass root level, etc.

Research:

Statistic show that we finds it useful by using our Operational Research Skills, Reporting mechanism, writing and wealth of experiences to share with others in the relevant field which we now operate on. It may interest you to known/recall that we were previously victims of TB before we all under go treatment. After the treatment,(10) ten of us as the founding members were discharged free of charge before we now went to establish this small, but an International TB NGO-SOPAT in Enugu, Nigeria. To this end, we think that sky is the beginning of our limit in the field of Operational Research.
