Please tell us how your organization will contribute to the Global Plan to Stop TB by briefly describing its involvement in any of the areas of work listed below:

In Kenya and Kisumu County, most people links TB and HIV/AIDS.Its stated that anybody who is suffering from TB Must be HIV Positive beyond any reasonable doubt,This ideology so far has created stigma and discrimination towards Patients suffering from TB making them to shy away from seeking treatment in Recommended Hospitals as most of them seek solace and hide in herbal medications which will later lead to them succumbing to death, some people also term it as a curse.Due to this fact we have been carrying out sensitization and Advocacy On TB Informing the community members of how the bacteria causing TB is spread as it is released in the air with somebody who already has it in his/her body. Its air-borne thus spreads from one person to the other irrespective of HIV/AIDS Individual status, therefore whether Reactive or non reactive patient..anybody can be infected with the bacteria causing TB.This has caused a lot of impact in the community with some of them not relating TB and HIV/AIDS and thus encouraging more people to go to the hospitals and screen for TB.
