Organization Description:
Janna Health foundation (JHF) is a Non-Governmental Organization that focuses on building sustainable development through providing access to medical services and information while improving communities’ livelihood.
Mission: to contribute to a healthy environment through delivery of high quality community and patient centered care within the framework of our National and Sustainable Development Goals
JHF was established by Seasoned TB Programme Managers and Public Health Experts in the North Eastern Nigeria who have come face to face with the devastation of TB in communities especially among prominent key populations (Nomads and IDP) in the North East Zones. JHF is implementing the CFCS Round 8 Project in Nomadic Schools and Communities, TB REACH Wave 5 Project in IDP Camps and Host Communities and the KNCV Nomads TB REACH Wave 6 Project in Adamawa and Taraba States; These projects are Active TB Case Finding projects being implemented in collaboration with the State TB Programmes. JHF is collaborating with another CBO (SUFABEL Community Development Initiative to implement Active TB Case finding in IDP Camps and Host Communities in Gombe, Yobe and Borno States.

We are implementing Active TB Case Finding among Nomadic Pastoralists and IDP Camps and Host Communities; these target populations are areas of focus by the NTP in its current NSP 2015 to 2020. We are contributing towards improving the low TB case detection among other thematic areas of TB control

Contribution

Please tell us how your organization will contribute to the Global Plan to Stop TB by briefly describing its involvement in any of the areas of work listed below:

TB Care Delivery:
We are actively engaging key populations through strategic advocacy and active TB case finding in North Eastern Nigeria

Drug-Resistant TB:
Our primary diagnostic tool is the GeneXpert. All Rifampicin resistant cases detected are linked to the State TB Programme for documentation and linkage to the DR-TB treatment center.

TB-HIV:
We collaborate with the Agency for HIV Control where we obtain HIV Rapid Test Kits for screening presumptive TB cases.

Laboratory Strengthening:
Our supervision includes TB diagnostic centers across all our intervention areas

Research:
We at JHF are interested in research. We incoperate Operational Research in all our projects.
