The Sudanese Red Crescent Society (SRCS) was established by the Cabinet of Ministers decision No. 869 of its meeting on 3 April 1956 as voluntary association aimed at alleviating suffering and strengthening the capacities of vulnerable groups in community. Vision The lead society in providing quality humanitarian services that brings change for competent and peaceful communities. Mission Improve the situation of the most vulnerable and promote human dignity and peace culture.
Values In compliance to the culture, values and experiences, SRCS is committed to the following standards: - - Credibility, to gain confidence and comply with all Agreements; - Inclusiveness, we respect human dignity, diversity and we are committed to equity; - Participation, we value the volunteers, partners contributions and committed to teamwork; - Quality, we strive for excellence and efficiency in accordance with the Fundamental Principles, laws and traditions; - Transparency, integrity and accountability are basis of programs implementation techniques; - Environmental awareness; we incorporate environmental awareness in all programs.

Thematic Core Areas:- Understanding the urgent local needs and vulnerabilities in various communities, SRCS will render essential humanitarian services guided by the humanitarian rights and entitlement of the most vulnerable groups. SRCS will work to provide better services to the target groups in the following core areas:- 1) Dissemination of Humanitarian values and the Fundamental Principles, 2) Health and Reduction of health risks, 3) Disaster Management and Disaster Risk Reduction, 4) Organizational Development and Resources Mobilization |
