Vision To be the leading organization in the fight towards a TB free society Mission To reduce the morbidity and mortality of TB and HIV through meaningful community engagement and promote sustainable behaviour change through advocacy, communication and social mobilisation. Goals: • To contribute 15% reduction of the incidence of all forms of TB cases towards the NTP target by 2019 • To contribute 15% reduction of the mortality of all forms of TB cases towards the NTP target by 2019 Objectives: • To ensure that 95% of contacts of TB index bacteriologically confirmed cases are screened, diagnosed and treated on time. - To mobilise community volunteers to trace at least 95% of contacts of bacteriologically confirmed TB cases notified by the NTP by 2019.
- To train community volunteers on contact screening methods and referral systems in order to achieve 95% of the target.
• To contribute at least 50% reduction of TB/HIV among key populations towards the NTP target by end of 2019.
• To mobilize community volunteers to retrieve and refer at least 95% of smear positive TB patients who interrupted treatment and those who are lost to follow –up recorded by the NTP by end of 2019.
• To train community volunteers on DOT in order to monitor treatment compliance to at least 95% of all forms of TB cases registered by the NTP by 2019.
Strategic Focus Prevention, control and care of TB/HIV in Zimbabwe through meaningful involvement and participation of the community in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Child Care, other Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and Community Based Organizations (CBOs).
