Chernihiv Network’s mission is to ensure that people living with HIV (PLHIV) have access to quality treatment in an environment that is free of stigma and discrimination when receiving services from medical providers in the Chernihiv Oblast.
The Chernihiv Network is a member of the “All-Ukrainian Network of People Living with HIV” is one of the principal recipients of the Global Fund project implemented within the framework of a single consolidated program on HIV and TB for 2015-2017 in Ukraine aimed to reduce HIV/AIDS and TB incidence and mortality with the support of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
Efforts are underway to reform the health care system in Ukraine. Family doctors from the Chernihiv Oblast will be responsible for caring for more PLHIV, but have lacked knowledge and access to training on HIV and TB treatment. Similarly, social workers and staff at the Chernihiv Network will need to prepare to assist additional clients.
The Chernihiv Network’s can effectively coordinate training and strengthened with the AIDS Center and the Health Ministry. The Chernihiv Network plans to partner with other NGO’s and public agencies to provide training to health works on HIV and TB treatment and counseling services to patients infected with HIV and TB. |
