MADAD is an acronym for Motivation Against Drug abuse, Alcoholism and Disease which also stands for 'help' in the Indian national language, Hindi. We are a group of doctors of the Public Health/ Community Medicine discipline with a passion for social work. The President and General Secretary are actively involved in Research in Tuberculosis including Operational Research. This year, we are starting our activites focussed on TB: On 22nd MArch, a Quiz and health talk based on TB is being organised for all the public schools of India in which about 200 students are scheduled to attend. On 23rd , A poster competition is being organised for medical and nursing students. On 24th, we are collaborating in a rally being organised by the state TB cell in which overseas particpants, medical students and faculty are scheduled to participate. The rally shall be flagged off by The Hon'ble Health Minister of state. For this, your esteemed organisation has already provided us with the Red Arrow pins and tatoos. For the coming year, we are in process of planning various activities focussing on TB in the community. |

Being a group of Public Health experts with a flair for social work, we have already begun to collaborate with the National TB control plan in various activities. We wish to supplement the efforts of the programme by generating awareness regarding various aspects of the disease. |
