Rural Gender and Development Association (RUGADA) was established in 1994. It is a registered rural-based Non-Government Organization (NGO), non-profit making non-political charitable organization with the mission to contribute to the improvement of the status of the less advantaged people in Uganda. RUGADA’s vision is “To have an enlightened, healthy and self-sustaining community”. Our mission is “To contribute to the improvement of less advantaged people”. Our strategic goal is “To contribute to increased capacities of the population to meet it’s social, economic and other development needs”.
in Uganda approximately 600,000 people developed TB and about 4100 died of the disease in 2013(WHO Global Report 2014.During the same period, however the health system detected and notified 47650 cases of who 2760 died,according to the national tuberculosis and leprosy program (NTLP)reports.children constituted 6% of the cases notified.overall,therefore, the health system missed over 12,000(20%) cases of TB.These missed cases continue to fuel the transmission wherever they are the community.
RUGADA through its programs will integrate TB at all levels and create awareness.distribute relevant IEC materials and conduct radio talk shows on TB.
