1. MISSION AND MAIN FOCUS OF WORK OF SAMS:
Focus: SAMS is a focused consultancy, providing exemplary HR and Drugs Logistics Support Services, to the health and development sectors in India. SAMS has to date executed more than 500 HR Consulting, Payroll and Logistics engagements for a range of premier development and health sector clients that include bi and multilateral organizations (including a large number of UN agencies), INGOs and leading national NGOs and GOI.
On the logistics side, SAMS have an unblemished track record of enabling the TB and Malaria Control programs to provide comprehensive supply chain management support, inventory management to avoid drug stock-outs across the country, review and evaluation of supply chain management practices at the state and district level including training/capacity building of health officers, pharmacists, etc. and continues to provide innovative and cost-effective solutions
2. WHY SAMS IS INTERESTED IN TUBERCULOSIS:
Since October 2000 till date, SAMS has continuously been involved in Supply Chain Management and Capacity Building for the Revised National Tuberculosis Programme (RNTCP). On a routine monthly/quarterly basis, information is collated from 700+ Districts, 35 State Drug Stores (SDS), and six Government Medical Stores Depots (GMSDs) in respect of status of utilisation and availability of drug stocks to ensure uninterrupted supplies at CHCs/PHCs, Districts and State Drugs Stores.

• Assisting RNTCP in developing Procurement Plans and an efficient quantification model, for accurate estimation of drugs and commodities on an annual basis and strengthening of procurement systems
• Strengthening of existing RNTCP inventory management systems at the State, District and Sub-district levels, through stringent monitoring and supervisory practices
• Establishment and re-assessing a strong reporting mechanism at all levels (viz. State, District, TUs and PHCs), with a view to strengthening drugs management under the program by establishing a proper monitoring mechanism and/or Logistic Management Information System (LMIS) under RNTCP and to assist the program in ensuring uninterrupted supply of drugs, commodities and equipment under RNTCP
• Capacity building and Training of RNTCP staff and officials engaged in drug management at the State and District levels, in the area of supply chain management of RNTCP drugs and commodities and
• Assisting RNTCP in standardisation of SOPs and its implementation and monitoring to facilitate Inventory system at all levels.

Laboratory Strengthening: We are the Procurement Agent for Foundation for Innovative New Diagnostics (FIND) in India under RNTCP, Govt. of India. We procure equipment, consumables for laboratories and undertake hiring of agencies for up-gradation of existing labs to BSL-3 labs. |
