Organization Description:
1) Health, fitness and wellbeing of poor and marginalized people of the society. .

2) Bangladesh is a high burden country for Tuberculosis. In pursuance with End TB strategy we need to mobilize more resources and actions to control TB epidemic in this country. Our organization works in one of the backward areas of the country. In this particular area plenty of people are getting affected byTB. We think those people need support to be cured and come back to usual productive life. So our organization is interested to work for TB control and care in our area.

3) We have planned to gear up ACSM activity in our area to build awareness about Tuberculosis. We have also planned to support DOTS to ensure full adherence to treatment for TB and drug resistant TB.

We are providing support to TB patients in our area by helping them pursue DOTS and improving awareness about TB infection. We also undertook some research work with National TB control Program, Bangladesh.

Contribution

Please tell us how your organization will contribute to the Global Plan to Stop TB by briefly describing its involvement in any of the areas of work listed below:

TB Care Delivery:
In Bangladesh we plan to provide ACSM at DOTS centers to increase adherence to treatment, reduce drop out, IPT promotion and child TB care.

Drug-Resistant TB:
In Bangladesh we plan to promote shorter regimen of drugs, ambulatory management of cases, prevention of XDR, special intervention at high risk areas e.g. garments, prisons and slums.

TB-HIV:
We plan to examine all HIV cases for TB.

Laboratory Strengthening:
We plan to promote scaling up of Molecular test for all suspects of DR-TB.

New Diagnostics:
We plan to promote Gene Xpert at all DOT centers.

New TB Drugs:
WE plan to roll out shorter regimen of drugs for MDR- TB treatment.

Research:
We plan to undertake researches about drug resistance - its development, transmission and prevalence. .
