Mission statement Working with vulnerable communities and other actors to address HIV/AIDs and TB. 1.13 Objectives of the organization 1. To provide the general population with HIV/AIDS / TB basic facts knowledge and skills in order to reduce the transmission of HIV and TB. 2. To conduct preventive and supportive on-going counseling, care and support to HIV/AIDS clients in the health facility as well as in the community. 3. To challenge HIV/AIDS related stigma, discrimination, attitude and laws that undermine human rights of people infected with HIV/AIDS in the community. 4. To advocate for positive health seeking behaviors and promote community based health care (CBNHC) interventions forprevention and control of communicable diseases. 1.14 Kalaki Health Sub district. 1.15 Over view of the collaboration on TB • Facility DOTs - conducted regular health facility and community based Networking and experience sharing forums for stakeholders in TB /HIV prevention. • (CB-DOTs – Created awareness on the TB/HIV prevention and control to the Village health team (VHTs) members in the sub-counties. • Family – DOTs – Conducted follow up home visits to TB/HIV clients to promote adherence to Tb/HIV treatment. • Know your TB status complain – conducted public dialogues on TB/HIV related stigma and discrimination in the community. • TB infection control– participated in conducting health education activities on TB infections control during ART clauses 1st tracking of all presumptive TB cases by use of cough monitors. 1.16 Over view of the collaboration HIV • HCT – participated in HIV counseling and testing in the ART clinics and community out reaches supported by Baylor. • HBC – participated in Home-Based care activities to support clients lost from the ART clinic or missing appointments. • Community dialogue meetings – conducted dialogue meetings with different groups of men and women on stigma adherence., PMTCT and couple testing • Supported promotion and distribution of condoms to the youth with supp |
