Organization Description:
PAHEL is a non-government, not for profit, non-religious/faith, non-sectarian organization. In 2009 AD, it was established by a group of senior male and female human rights activists consist on educationists, doctors, legal experts, technocrats, dynamic entrepreneurs, enthusiastic students and effervescent youth and it was registered under the Societies Act 1860.

The group believed in a Chinese proverb that “A journey of thousand miles must begin with first step” Hence an initiative for social movement in the society was taken by the group and founded an association called PAHEL (PAHEL is an Urdu word that means an initiative)
Pakistan is the world’s fourth highest multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) burden country and the fifth highest TB burden country. The prevalence rate of TB and HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) co-infection was around 1,500 and the TB mortality rate was 59,000 per year. Tangible efforts to control this disease along scientific lines have begun since 2000 or 2001, although we had lifesaving drugs to cure TB and a cost-effective strategy for their use.
PAHEL aims at social mobilization for the eradication of TB in Pakistan. PAHEL is closely following SDGs and wishes to have plan of action for Pakistan in accordance with SDGs
