Organization Description: |
The Global Coalition of TB Activists (GCTA) has developed from the original Community Task Force into a global platform that bridges the gap between civil society organizations and other stakeholders, while ensuring that community is involved in all TB processes. Its primary purpose is to ensure that the communities affected by TB are at the centre of all advocacy efforts. Since its inception in March 2013, the GCTA has actively contributed to the global TB agenda through its network of activists, achieving a number of significant milestones along the way.
The Strategic Goals of the GCTA are: 1. To amplify community engagement and strengthen the capacity of TB activists at national, regional and global levels
2. To enhance the profile of TB on the global health and development agendas
3. To advocate for increased resources for TB research, advocacy and community mobilization
4. To strengthen institutional capacity of GCTA for improved effectiveness and efficiency |
