| YUVABHARATH SOCIETY is an NGO working since 2010 in 8 Districts (5 coastal districts - Nellore, Prakasam, Guntur, Krishna, West and East Godavari Districts of Andhra Pradesh on various developmental initiative and since 2010 on HIV related interventions including TB being the first opportunistic infection. The following are the initiatives / projects / programs of YUVABHARATH SOCIETY and the mandate in SOCIETY is that certain common messages are taken across all programs in all regions for the benefit of the targeted / participating communities and the TB is one amongst them. | YUVABHARATH SOCIETY is involved in HIV related interventions since 2010 and one of the key messages both in one to one and one to group sessions and also in mass communication events is to sensitize the vulnerable population both on HIV and TB and cross diagnostic testing i.e., persons with HIV to get tested for TB and persons with TB to get tested for HIV as part of BCC. YUVABHARATH SOCIETY is a member of HIV - TB District Level Coordination Committee. YUVABHARATH SOCIETY was involved in implementing Healthy Highway Project supported by DFID and APSACS / NACO working amongst Highway based communities reaching around 300,000 individuals per year including truck drivers, cleaners, mobile sex workers, dhaba workers, auto mobile mechanics, Tyre puncture shop workers, petrol bunk workers etc. in Guntur, Krishna, West and East Godavari Districts of Andhra Pradesh in South India. TB Care Delivery: Link all Out Reach / field level / community based functionaries to DOTS and advocate on drug adherence apart from enhanced quality of life by required level of behavioral change and encourage the totally cured individuals to disclose and stand as replicable model by revealing the success stories and thus enhance the level of hope amongst the hopeless and deprived The promotion of CBOs with right based approach for civil society demand on quality drugs and treatment apart from the members of the CBO to excel the opportunity to rope in more number of persons with TB and advocate on successful adherent treatment for total cure amongst other persons with TB not accessing / not interested to access the treatment. Drug-Resistant TB: YUVABHARATH SOCIETY works in coordination with TB related services of the Government at all levels and further ensures field level quality assurance in implementation through networking, linkages and by mentoring the respective CBOs TB-HIV: YUVABHARATH SOCIETYone of the active members of TB - HIV Coordination at District Level. Laboratory Strengthening: YUVABHARATH SOCIETY is involved in HIV related interventions since 1992 and one of the key messages both in one to one and one to group sessions and also in mass communication events is to sensitize the vulnerable population both on HIV and TB and cross diagnostic testing i.e., persons with HIV to get tested for TB and persons with TB to get tested for HIV as part of BCC New Diagnostics: Ensuring community based structures and facilities on TB and HIV related drug adherence with quality of life.
