(1.) Youth Initiative for Health, Environment and Community Development (YHEACOD) is a youth lead non governmental, non-profit Organization, not for profit making organization that focuses on youth empowerment through capacity building in the area; of general health issues, environmental resources and sustainability, governance and democratic government, formal and informal, economic up-liftment, and welfare of less privileged. YHEACOD also focuses on care and support for orphans and vulnerable children, women empowerment and women active participation in polities, advocacy, sensitization and community mobilization and tax justice and fairness. Mission: To improve the health and standard of living of adolescents and youth (women and children ), poorest of the poor, the elderly, rural and marginalized urban communities and vulnerable groups in Africa; by promoting evidence-based credible actions and support for health, environment, nutrition, democratic government and development.
(2.) I am interested because i want to network and partner with other organization. (3.) We are planning to make sure that TB cases are dictated early enough for treatment and advocate for support to help this plan achieve. |

Our organization is based in the rural communities and we carry out awareness on TB programmes, advocacy, communication and social mobilization to engage community members in the area of care and support for TB client and early dictation of TB cases. |

Please tell us how your organization will contribute to the Global Plan to Stop TB by briefly describing its involvement in any of the areas of work listed below: |
TB Care Delivery: Our organization have in the year 2012 conducted advocacy visit to all stakeholders in Onicha LGA in Ebonyi State Nigeria and have conducted communication and social mobilization in the said LGA. The aim is to create TB awareness in the community and to equip some DOT centers and increase the number of DOTS centers.
Drug-Resistant TB: In order to control drug resistant, we recruited community volunteers to work within the community and identify TB suspect and also provide treatment supporters.
TB-HIV: We encourage those that are HIV positive to always go for TB and malaria screening. |
