Contribution |
Please tell us how your organization will contribute to the Global Plan to Stop TB by briefly describing its involvement in any of the areas of work listed below: |
TB Care Delivery: WE AIM: To build the capacities of the TB affected populations WE USE; Personal experience of TB surviving in collaboratibg with National Plan Managers. The lack of literacy treatment, efficient comunication between partners and low involvement of the TB affected communities in the process of decision making at different levels led to the development of a TB patient association in our country. WE DO; Since its foundation SMIT develops activities in the benefit of the people and communities affected by tuberculosis. Through conducted activities, SMIT builds TB patients capacity on issues related to treatment literacy, following the treatment, contributing to the health of their community. During all the possible dialogues with decision makers SMIT speaks publicly about the necessity of developing social, material, psychological and legal support to people with tuberculosis. WE FOCUS: On issues related to human rights, public awareness, care and support for people affected by all forms of TB. Advocating for partnership between TB patients, medical staff and authorities, making the treatment process more efficient, make the voices of the TB affected populations heard. WE WILL CONTINUE: To dig out the existing problems in TB approach in a country as well as to improve the ways of representing TB affected communities at public levels. CONCLUSION; A patient advocacy association in hand with all interested partners should get involved in all the activities that would benefit national as well as global community in regard to Classic and DR Tuberculosis. |
