Apollo Tyres Foundation is the CSR wing of Apollo Tyres Ltd. Targeted Intervention Program with truckers is the biggest initiate of the foundation. Truckers are major stakeholders of Apollo Tyres Ltd. TI programme is operational since 2000 and currently has STI clinics/Projects at 21 locations across the country on major halting points (Transport Nagar).The STI treatment, counselling, HIV testing, condom promotion, mid media activities, referral and IEC material distribution is done at all these clinics.
The Centres/Clinics are staffed with qualified doctors, paramedics, counsellors and outreach workers, who work with the immediate community in the transhipment hubs or transport Nagars. The programme focuses on identification and treatment of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), Behaviour Change communication (BCC), HIV Testing and condom promotion. A large network of peer educators, taken from the community are trained to enable a robust referral system across the transhipment hub. Potential STI individuals are then referred to the clinic by peer educators as well.
With the experience of managing 21 projects with truckers’ community, Apollo tyres plans to address the issue of TB with India Truckers.

If we get technical support from STopTB then with our exisiting infrastucture and 200+ human resource can cater to one of the most vulnerabale population of the country.
The TB awareness and services are not even available, accessible to the India truckers population.
This way we can contribute indirectly too much to National Program. |
