WADEP, as an organization was established in 1995 as a pilot project for women empowerment and community development through training and education using various innovative approaches.
Our major activities include:
• ICT and Education in basic education • HIV and AIDS Education • Child Social and Financial Education • Event organization and decorations • Youth and Reproductive education and counseling services • Skills training • Entrepreneurial Development and Business management skills training • Gender and Domestic Violence education • Human Rights and Legal Education/Services • Promotion of Nontraditional agriculture
Vision “A society in which there is social justice human dignity for everybody especially the marginalized, with self-rediscovery of human potentials coupled with peaceful co-existence with oneself and the environment for accelerated economic growth and a better living standard for all”.
Mission “To assist the people in their developmental process as catalysts, facilitators, advocates and lobbyist in a peaceful environment”
The Goal for this phase is; “To improve, strengthen and sustain the economic, social, political and environmental well-being of the marginalized especially women”
The prevalence rate of TB is high in Nkwanta District of Ghana,the Women And Development Project(WADEP) is poised to take the initiative to raise awareness of the disease and the way forward as this will help reduce both the mobility and mortality rate.

As part of our advocacy role, WADEP collaborates with the District Health Directorate to embark on community and school education programs raising awareness on HIV/AIDS and TB and seeks to extend the program to more communities and schools in the district. currently the organization is planning to train volunteers in the various communities in the district. |
