Organization Description: |
1 (a) Mission Statement: To advocate for and contribute to efforts for ensuring personal, family and community health and development in Nigeria through information, education, capacity building, advocacy, care and support. (b) PLAN Foundation works on health advocacy including community and public health, capacity and community engagement, access to treatment, patient engagement, community preparedness and right to health.
2. As an organization of people living with HIV, PLAN Foundation works on HIV treatment access, TB/HIV collaborative activities, community TB care and referral for TB and TB/HIV services. The organization recognizes the impact of TB on community health and economic development
3. PLAN Foundation is actively involved in the TB response at community, national and global levels. (a) PLAN Foundation also implements advocacy activities as a grantee under the Challenge Facility for Civil Society (CFCS) of the Stop TB partnership. (b) The organization is also a founding member of the Civil Society for the Eradication of Tuberculosis in Nigeria (TB Network) which is the umbrella organization of civil society organizations working on Tuberculosis in Nigeria. (c) PLAN Foundation’s Executive Director served as a member of the TB/HIV Core Group of the Stop TB Partnership between 2007 and 2009.

(1) The organization implements projects for engaging community volunteers in facilitating access to TB services at community level and community mobilization to raise demand for TB services through the TB CARE I project in Nigeria. (2) The organization is currently serving as a Sub-Sub Recipient (Lead Organization) TB on the Community Systems Strengthening component of the Global Fund Round 9 Phase 2 Health Systems Strengthening project in Nigeria. (3) PLAN Foundation’s is also a founding member of the Nigerian Stop TB Partnership. |
