Organization Description:

Please tell us how your organization is contributing to your country's national TB control plan:
TBNet helps the national TB control plan by offering TB treatment providers at the local, state, regional, national and international level with a service that will help them maintain patients in care who are at high risk of abandoning treatment because of voluntary or required departure from the place of treatment initiation. TBNet helps patients find TB services when they migrate within the United States or to any country in the world. Once care is established TBNet follows-up with the patient and TB clinic to ensure the patient continues and completes TB treatment.

Contribution

Please tell us how your organization will contribute to the Global Plan to Stop TB by briefly describing its involvement in any of the areas of work listed below:

TB Care Delivery:
3. Standardized treatment with supervision and patient support
TB treatment and programme management guidelines, International Standards of TB Care (ISTC), PPM, Practical Approach to Lung Health (PAL), community-patient involvement.
Our TBNet program provides patients with support, and ensures that the patients receive supervised treatment regardless of their location, we also help to notify the NTP directors of each program for better continuity of care for each case.

Drug-Resistant TB:
Maintaining difficult to treat patients in care through to treatment completion via our network and case management which reduces potential of resistance developing.

Research:
We have participated in operational research developed by the CDC to evaluate binational case management and communication.
