Since June 2012 the NGO is in charge of the Hospital "Raoul Follereau", the National Reference Center for Tuberculosis in Bissau, Guine Bissau. | In Guine Bissau the NGO is part of the TB program because the hospital that the NGO manages is the National Reference Center for TB. TB patients in need for admission are admitted only in this hospital in the entire country. 700 inpatients and 3500 outpatients are treated every year. We only can perform direct sputum observationa nd would like to set up culture, antibiograms etc etc | |

TB Care Delivery: Fundraising for the below listed activities Drug-Resistant TB: Treatment of drug resistant TB patients TB-HIV: Half of the patients admitted in the Hospital are HIV1 or Hiv2 positive. Data collection of clinical cases, TB/HIV interaction Laboratory Strengthening: The laboratory is the National Reference Laboratory for TB diagnosis (serving the entire country and all the suspects of TB). It performs only direct smear observation and we would like to increase its diagnostic capacity New Diagnostics: We would like to be involved in this area New TB Drugs: We would like to be involved in this area. Only first line treatment is provided by the Government Research: All clinical and laboratory dat regarding inpatients and outpatients are collected |
