The project "Bandeirantes Combating Tuberculosis" enables FBB members from all over Brazil as multipliers of information, to disseminate forms of prevention and treatment of TB in their groups, schools, communities and businesses. Through the partnership with the Global Fund Tuberculosis Brazil and the National Tuberculosis Control (NTCP), from the Brazilian Ministry of Health, in November 2011, 20 FBB members from13 states were trained as multiplier agents. These members already held training classes in 10 states, and formed other 661 multiplier agents and held 5 preventive actions in their communities, with 6,915 people benefited. Allied to this strategy of action in combating the disease, we are developing a distance training program to form multipliers agents of information. We are part of the NGO Forum / Tuberculosis in the cities of Rio de Janeiro and Porto Alegre and we are a member of the Metropolitan Tuberculosis Committee of Porto Alegre. We also support the campaign of 0% abandoned treatment to reduce transmission of the disease. |
