Organization Description: |
WODECO is a membership organisation with over five thousand members in communities all over Nigeria. Our goal is to improve the living conditions and position of women and their family. We work with PLWHs and since tuberculosis is associated with HIV, we also have interest in TB issues. The area we work in is mainly in advocacy, awarenes creation and sensitization and we intend to continue in this areas for TB control. We concentrate our efforts in rural and hard to reach areas because people in urban centres are sufficiently aware and informed about TB. We are interested in Tb brcause we work extensively with HIV support groups and OVC as a member of the TB Network in Nigeria and we intend to carry our awareness/sensitization and other programmes further since most people are ashamed to come forward for treatment. We want to do all we can to reduce TB stigma among the rural dwellers and those we currently work with in other to reduce and control the spresd of TB in Nigeria. We are currently working in this direction but we want to increase our reach and intensify our effort in this areas, |
