Organization Description:
SAFE SOCIETY is a non-profit voluntary organization established in 2005, operational in the north eastern area of UTTAR PRADESH state focusing on improving the socio-economic standards of the most underprivileged communities. Our current development portfolio emphasizes on women and child rights, education, health, HIV & AIDS, women empowerment, and livelihood development.
SAFE's mission is to develop awareness among the downtrodden communities so as to empower them and help them in gaining control over all factors that affect their individual life.
Safe is currently involved to eradicate TB with Various Project Like Project AXSHYA, Private Sector Engagement with kind support of many respected supporters like The Union, Lilly MDR TB Partnership in Eastern area of Uttar Pradesh in India.

Please tell us how your organization is contributing to your country's national TB control plan:
A)Safe Society is a partner organization of AXSHYA Project in Maharajganj District in collabration with Mamta HIMC.
B) Sensitization meeting of VHSC, SHGs , CBOs and other groups on TB in Maharajganj and Gorakhpur districts.
C)Celebration of special events like World TB day, International Women’s day etc. for mass awareness on TB.
D)Tracing initial defaulters and defaulters retrieval in association with RNTCP.
E)Helpline No.: Safe Society has initiated a Helpline no. on TB. In first phase it will be implemented in Maharajganj district.A responsible RNTCP staff will respond the quarries of the people related to stigma and discrimination, myths and misconceptions and services and facilities available in RNTCP.
F) Advocacy: Safe Society has developed a group of civil society organizations, other like minded people in Gorakhpur and Maharajganj, which will work for the rights of the TB patients in respective districts.
G)Training of Rural Health Care Providers to sensitize about TB and refer the symptomatic to nearest DMC
H)Increase the overall referral of DMCs
I)Linkage of TB Positive patient to DMC
J)Sensitize and support the Governmental and RNTCP Staff to work better
K)TB Volunteer : Identify a TB Volunteer and trained him/her about TB at village level.

TB Care Delivery:
a. Sensitization meeting of VHSC, SHGs , CBOs and other groups on TB in Maharajganj and Deoria districts.

b. Celebration of special events like World TB day, International Women’s day etc. for mass awareness on TB.

c. Tracing initial defaulters and defaulters retrieval in association with RNTCP

TB-HIV:
Support to HIV patient facing with TB in Medical College.

Laboratory Strengthening:
Trying to Increase 25% of the overall referral in some selected DMCs in Ghazipur.

New Diagnostics:
Trying to refer new symptomatic to new diagnose.
