Shohratgarh Envirnomnetal Society (SES) is a developmental organization.SES was informally born with issue of local safe drinking water issue in 1985. Over the years, SES has evolved to be a comprehensive NGO which works in the field of agriculture, food security, livelihood, health, education, disaster mitigation,water & Environment. As organization is all detremined to align all relevant programmes to align with millenium development goals. TB is one of them.Indicator 23 & 24 of Millenium development goals 6 talks about reducing TB.In context of TB, Organization want to prevent the further spread of TB in rural areas of India .It also aims to mitigate personal, community & social impact of TB with support of quality medical care,counseling and education to the infected and the affected.
SES is currently working on TB control and prevention in district Siddharthnagar with support of MAMTA-New Delhi under Axshya Project from July 2011. Organization is functioning as bridge between the health system and the community. Encourage and assist the patients in early diagnosis and initiation of treatment and provide necessary support for completing the treatment has been done.

SES is currently working on TB control and prevention in district Siddharthnagar with support of MAMTA-New Delhi under Axshya Project from July 2011. Organization is functioning as bridge between the health system and the community. Encourage and assist the patients in early diagnosis and initiation of treatment and provide necessary support for completing the treatment has been done.
Project Goal- The goal of the project is to decrease motility and morbidity due to TB and cut transmission of infection until TB cases to be a major public health.
The Objective- • To achieve and maintain a cure rate of TB among newly detected infectious cases. • To achieve and maintain detection of such cases in the population.
Activities has been done by the organization – • 25 GKS ( Gao Kalyan Samiti) Meeting including CBO,SHG & VHSC) has been organized in DMC Jogia & Teria bazaar. Awareness and sensitization meeting of community stakeholders was done to increase referral for sputum testing in nearest DMCs. Total 36 suspected case was referred by team / stakeholders .
• Mid media community event – SES has been conducted two days mid media activities topic on TB in Jogia & Teria Bazar PHC. This activity was done in campaigning mode with support of SES team and local PRI and CBO members. Toal 14 villages covered in the campaign. During the campaign 4-5 meetings of community was organized to generate awareness among TB in common place like local hot Bazar. • District TB Forum of NGO, CBO, Teachers, and inflowing person of the community was formed and one meeting has been conducted to raise the advocacy issues. • 26 Axshya Mittra are identified for training on the TB and sputum collection and transportation to DMC. • One day Training of RHCP (Rural Health Care) was completed on TB by MAMTA in the district. • Similarly, One day Training of CBOs was complete on the TB issues by MAMTA in the district. • Wall painting was done in two places (CHC-Shohratgarh & CMO office) and two types handbills prepared and printed on the TB to increase awareness & sensitization.
Result- • 36 patient referred to diagnosis of TB • 2 sputum collection center established with support of Gram Panchyat • Trained RHCPs are taken interest in referral based of symptoms form our clinic. • 12 ASHA/RHCPs has identified to work as DOTS provider in their area.

TB Care Delivery: SES will try to address three areas in ACSM (advocacy, communication and social mobilization ) for strengthening, viz. high-level advocacy for political and administrative support, implementation of the ACSM strategy at the state and district levels, and social mobilisation. Civil society involvement aims at strengthening engagement of non-programme providers and communities, complement programme efforts in human resource development, supervision and monitoring, and access to diagnostics, increased commitment to DR-TB and TB-HIV from all levels, enhancing engagement of community-based ASHAs (Accredited Social Health Activists), engage more providers in RNTCP’s revised schemes, and some exemplary awareness raising efforts. |

I.First step is to empower people with TB: To contribute to the mitigation of the
social and economic effects of TB at individual, household and community level by
providing support to TB patients and their families.
II.Addressing TB/HIV, MDR-TB and other challenges: contribute towards the
mitigation of the health effects of TB and improve the quality of life of TB
patients consolidating and scaling-up care, support and treatment services II.. we want to build capacity of illiterate people to diagnose TB and get help
from govt. hospitals.
III.Contributing to health system strengthening & Engaging all health providers: Organization want to work with TB service providers to treat patients sincerely
and behave polity.
