Organization Description: |
Organization for Sustainable Socio - Economic Development Initative Malawi works in seven districts in Malawi. The districts are from all regions of the country. The organization was registered in 2006 with Malawi government of 1962 Act. The organization was registered to enhance community participation in fighting against HIV and AIDS and Health, climate change, water and sanitation problems, food insecurity, reduce poverty among Malawians, community, women and girls empowerment. Major diseases are on the list of the MDGs so as the organization mission and aims to reduce and fight against health issues and HIV and AIDS. Tuberculosis is one of the major diseses that gives tough time to organization and civil society on ways af combating it. There are types of TB that are incureable and cureable so the organization want to be part and parcel of sharing and spreading the message to the masses in the rural and urban areas. There is still knowledge gap on information of TB to the people due to few organizations that are taking part in implementing the message of TB. Government health workers are few so that they can not reach out and mobilise the community to share the TB information. Ciurrently the organization conduct awareness meetings and mainstream about TB in all the meetings done in the target districts. We are soliciting funds from different organizations in order to reach as many people as we can in order to control TB in the rural and urban areas. We are planning to establisah committee who will operate on voluntary basis in the Community Based Organizations we are working with to workm in the areas of TB in sharing messages. TB have challenges where patients feel healed when they are health and leave the dosage un finished. |
