| Drama Network is a non-governmental and non-profit making organization based in Akosombo, in the Asuogyaman District of the Eastern Region of Ghana. The organization was founded in February 2002 by a couple who realised that interpersonal communication is very essential to convince people to participate in issues relating to socio-economic development. Currently, Drama Network is one of the leading local NGOs in Ghana and is at the forefront of today's development dialogue addressing many dimensions of human development, including health, human rights, environmental protection and poverty reduction based on local needs and priorities. Drama Network’s office is located in Room 4 on the 3rd floor of the GCB Head-office Building in Akosombo. Our Vision: To see a society where every citizen has equal rights and is able to live in a protected environment which supports quality health and good standard of living. Our Mission: The mission of Drama Network is to work to ensure that all people in our country, particularly the vulnerable, have access to equal rights, quality health and live in a protected environment. This is done by collaborating with government, groups, organisations and individuals. Our Objectives: -To empower groups and individuals on issues concerning their health -To ensure the promotion, protection, respect for and fulfilment of the rights of citizens. -To build the capacity of communities towards environmental protection -To promote formal education in deprived communties. -To undertake all possible activities whose resultant effect shall improve the socio-economic status of people. Organizational Philosophy: To relate to our target beneficiaries as active participants and people with relevant experience and knowledge base, capable of diagnosing their own situations and taking control of the processes for their self improvement and learning towards their desired improved situation with our role as facilitators. TB-HIV: Drama Network screens Persons Living With HIV for TB quarterly, using a tool. Suspected cases are referred to health facilities for further treatment.Additionally, they are educated on TB. |
