Organization Description:

Introduction

The Thabo Mwale TB Foundation (TMTBF) is a charitable foundation dedicated to combat tuberculosis (TB) and HIV. It was founded in 2005 by Thabo Mwale a TB survivor. The foundation is governed by a board of directors whose charge is primarily to assist with strategy development, projects identification and prioritisation, raise money for tuberculosis/HIV control projects within the foundation.
The foundation operates in three Provinces, namely Gauteng, North West and Mpumalanga Province. The Advisory Board has 7 members chairperson, coming from the health sector, Private Sector and Finance.

Our Vision

A community that is free from Tuberculosis and HIV.
Our Goal
To educate and inform the community on the symptoms, impact, danger, illness and integrated treatment of tuberculosis/HIV and other related matters.
The goals of TMTBF are closely aligned with the National Strategy Plan (NSP) and the Millenium Goal target (MDG) to combat TB and HIV in South Africa through Advocacy, Communication and Social Mobilisation (ACSM).

Our Objectives includes:

- To create awareness on TB/HIV in the community
- To pursue a quality DOTS expansion and enhancement
- To address TB/HIV, MDRT-TB and other challenges
- To contribute to health systems strengthening
- To involve all care providers and relevant NGO’s
- To identify and engage people with TB and affected communities

The foundation is well recognized by National TB Control programm. We support and attend all National Event also participate on the TB Day planning. We volunter to deliver the information that a run by the Department. The founder of the foundation is also a TB Ambassador in the region
