Destiny enablers' Foundation(DEF)- Uganda,is a civil society organization with community based projects located in Iganga District Uganda East Africa.
DEF- Uganda's Vision “A society that is free from poverty and recognizes the health and educational needs of the most vulnerable groups of people in the Busoga region” while its purpose of existence (Mission) “Improving the lives of the rural poor in Busoga region through advocacy, lobbying and raising awareness.” DEF's Mission & Vision are guided with the Values of love, care, Human rights and new ideas.
DEF Uganda Implements the following Programs;
HIV&AIDS/ TB Program
HIV&AIDS/ TB Activities 1.1 HIV&AIDS and TB care program. 1.1.1 HIV/AIDS Counseling & Testing 1.1.2 Care and management of HIV and AIDS 1.1.3 Risk reduction with development of active TB among our clients who are co-infected with both HIV&AIDS and latent TB. 1.1.4 Reduction of TB infection among HIV&AIDS negative people (care takers our of HIV&AIDS clients). 1.1.5 Referral and follow of our clientele for treatment and management of TB in a way to improve quality of life. 1.1.6 Ensuring access to antiretroviral therapy for all our clients who are co-infected with both HIV&AIDS and TB. 1.1.7 Referral for free CD4 and viral load testing services as well as free access of ART. 1.1.8 Laboratory testing for HIV 1&2, malaria, (Plasmodium Falciparum), and TPHA. 1.1.9 Provision of on-going counseling services. 1.1.10 Home based care/visits at outreaches and clients homes. 1.1.11 Referral for management of severe opportunistic infections and other AIDS defining illnesses. 1.1.12 Referral for STD/STIs case management. 1.1.13 Mobile Health & Care Support to the Youths Sexual Reproductive Health And Rights(SRHR) Program Activities with Youth 1.2 Sexual Reproductive Health & Rights 1.2.1 Training & Awareness 1.2.2 Behavioral Change Communication (BCC) 1.2.3 Information Educational Communication (IEC) 1.2.4 Self Esteem Building 1.2.5 Rights Awareness 1.2.6 Life |
