Hope for Future Generations is community based not for profit national women and children focused advocacy and public health organisation. We are interested in Tuberculosis because it is a public and human right issue. It can be prevented if well managed with adequate resources focusing on Community System Strengthening. It not only health issue but also social and human right issue. Childhood TB has been neglected for sometime now and we need to make conscious efforts to bring it to the plan effectively.
Our mission is to advocate for women,children and families in the fight against preventable diseases as well as mobilising communities,strengthening their capacity using their own resouces for acceptable and sustainable and affordable projects.
Our vision is informed communities,Improved lifestyles. Our goal is to form partnerships that will facilitate and improve the health,education and socio economic status of women,children and communities. |

Hope for Future Generations is the only NGO that helped in reviewing and re-developing the national TB training manual with Ghana Health Service and CSOs in Ghana. We are supported by our National TB Control programme to train and establish TB volunteers among our tradtional leaders to ensure prompt referral of suspected cases.
We have trained and formed TB advocacy groups among Assembly men and women. We have also trained chemical shop owners as treatment supporters. Curently,we are executive member of Stop TB Partnership, we facilitated the development of constitution for the partnership in Ghana. We have screened and educated 6851 people including PLHIV and Commercial Sex workers for TB and referred 241 suspected cases to the hospital. However,only 7 were positive. We have trained 25 volunteers on sputum collection and transportation to hospital |

Drug-Resistant TB: Our activities focus on treatment adherence and education MDR TB especially among PLHIV infected with TB.
TB-HIV: Hope for Future Generations is one of the partners of Stop TB Partnership. We are currently working with 3000 PLHIV and their regular sexual partners. We integrate routine TB screening into PLHIV support group routine activities. We are working with 55 PLHIV volunteers. They were trained as treatment supporters to their peers. They lead the routine TB screening using the Ghana Health Service screening tool. Suspected TB cases are promptly referred to hospital, when confirmed, the treatment supporter does regular follow to ensure treatment adherence and follow up. For HFFG,TB and HIV is integrated into all our projects. All staff are trained as TB &HIV advocates.We will continue to build the capacity for PLHIV in our project communities,strengthening the capacity of treatment supporters and community TB advocates to carryout the routine TB screening for PLHIV and their families. We partner Ghana Health Service to do contact and defaulter tracing. We carryout community based advocacy for community support for infected and affected. Our plan for 2014-2016 is to focus on Childhood TB. We integrated Childhood TB education and referral in to our three year Maternal, Neonatal and child Survival Project in selected regions of the country. We have embarked on |
