Organization Description:
Emmanuel Hospital Association is the largest Christian non governmental provider of healthcare in India with 20 rural hospitals and 30 community based projects located in 14 states (province)of India. EHA helps to transform the lives of the poor and marginalised in rural North India through comphrehensive community health projects, development projects, disaster relief and risk reduction project. Some our focus areas are HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, malaria, reproductive and child health.

Please tell us how your organization is contributing to your country's national TB control plan:
We are partnering with the Revised National TB Control Programme in India and many of the hospitals provide RNTCP services. We were part of the TB Partnership for Care and Control in India and have participated in its development and was a member on the sterring committee through which we have contributed to the National planning in TB. We participated in the Nation Working group on Epidemiology on Monitoring of the National Programme. EHA is also undertaking research in TB Diagnostics in resource constrained settings.

Contribution

TB Care Delivery:
We are involved in ACSM in 25 districts in India as a sub-recipient of the GFATM Akshya Project. We are also providing TB Care services in 20 locations

TB-HIV:
We are involved in training in TB HIV

Laboratory Strengthening:
We are undertaking research on TB diagnostics in resource constrained settings. We are also exploring alternate models of transporting sputum specimens.

Research:
Undertaking OR projects. Also exploring community participatory research.
