Contribution |
Please tell us how your organization will contribute to the Global Plan to Stop TB by briefly describing its involvement in any of the areas of work listed below: |
Drug-Resistant TB: We study the mechanisms, to which sometimes, the disease doesn´t respond to treatment with drugs; this knowledge also becomes useful to design new drugs.
New Diagnostics: One of our objectives is to develop faster and more specific methods that allow a more effective diagnosis of the disease.
New TB Vaccines: The current vaccine in use against tuberculosis (BCG) is not adequate enough to avoid the spread of the disease, which is why we´re in the process of developing new vaccines more effective. |
