Contribution

Please tell us how your organization will contribute to the Global Plan to Stop TB by briefly describing its involvement in any of the areas of work listed below:

TB-HIV:
Enable access to new diagnostics in support of systematic screening programs for high risk groups to facilitate early TB case detection and start of treatment.

Laboratory Strengthening:
Incorporate in mobile diagnostic TB screening units(one-stop TB containers) provisions for the use of Molecular Tests and LED Fluorescent Microscopes

New Diagnostics:
Enable access for high risk groups to new TB diagnostics like digital X-ray, Computer Aided TB Detection software,teleradiology, LED Fluorescent Microscopes and molecular tests through advocacy and access to funding.

Research:
New case detection algorithms using innovative and mobile technologies will in the CheckTB! designed projects be accompanied by Operational Research to measure impact and/or to determine how to further improve diagnostic accuracy.

CheckTB! is a private consultancy initiative mainly funded by grant facilities from the Dutch Ministry of Development Cooperation and Economic Affairs.

CheckTB! has direct contacts with various suppliers of diagnostic imaging systems, LED Fluorescent microscopes and molecular tests. All CheckTB! designed projects so far have to pass through an ICB.

CheckTB! cooperates in some projects with local private organisations to assure implementation, capacity building and maintenance; cooperation with NTP's and organisations such as WHO, KNCV and USAID (TBCAP) is also initiated for specific projects.
