Please tell us how your organization will contribute to the Global Plan to Stop TB by briefly describing its involvement in any of the areas of work listed below: |
TB Care Delivery: Creating awareness about TB and DOTS program among the people in rural areas and urban slums because poor illiterate people live in these places. With help of field staff and health department people, the TB suspected people were identified and they will be sent to referral hospital for testing. If the test is positive they will be referred to DOTS treatment. The help of local Self Help Group members can betaken during identifying and DOTS treatment of TB cases
TB-HIV: In STEPS AVAHAN project and Urban Health centre all the PLWHs and general population were sent for TB screening. All the TB patients were sent for VCTC.TB infected people are referred to DOTS treatment.
Laboratory Strengthening: The facilities available in the existing laboratories are not sufficient. The rural people were made to visit these labs many times for testing because of less staff and facilities. So all the laboratories will be strengthened by appointing more staff and providing all facilities.
New Diagnostics: In India, old diagnostic procedures were followed to detect the TB cases. But for accurate detection of all types of TB cases and for correct treatment, new improved diagnostic techniques are required. These services should available to all people. |
