Organization Description:
A Non Governmental, Non Commercial legal entity “Global Projects Implementation Center” (GPIC) , established on 25 January 2011, is a successor of Georgia Health and Social Projects' Implementation Center (GHSPIC) which implemented international and state projects and programs in the area of health care and social affairs; for 7 years it was a Principle Recipient of The Global Fund Grants. On 24 December, 2010, CCM Georgia made a decision to separate The Global Fund Projects Implementation team from the GHSPIC and to assign to this team legal status of the NGO and to make this new entity as a principle recipient for TGF grants.
GPIC has undergone all necessary legal procedures from The Global Fund side and since 1 April 2011, became a Principle recipient of all GFATM grants in Georgia.
Currently GPIC implements The Global Fund HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and malaria projects.

TB Care Delivery:
• Advocacy to sustain high political commitment for TB control in Country
• Upgrade and supply TB laboratory network
• Support the NTP to provide standardized treatment with DOT provision and incentives and enablers for patients
• Uninterrupted supply of first line anti TB drugs
• Support the NTP to monitor and evaluate program performance with regular supervisions at the regional and central levels


Drug-Resistant TB:
Support the NTP to sustain up access to testing for resistance to first-line anti-TB drugs among TB patients, with provision of laboratory equipment and consumables.
• Support the NTP to sustain access to testing of susceptibility to second-line anti-TB drugs.
• Support the NTP to provide effective treatment with DOT provision and incentives and enablers for patients
• Support the NTP to improve infection control measures
• Support the NTP to strengthen surveillance with timely transportation of sputum specimens


TB-HIV:
• Support the NTP to provide HIV testing among confirmed TB cases
• Support the NTP to provide screening of TB cases among IDUs
• Support the NTP ensure access to CPT for HIV positive TB patients
• Support the NTP ensure access to IPT among people living with HIV and who do not have active TB according to international guidelines


Laboratory Strengthening:
• Support the NTP to sustain access to quality-assured AFB microscopy with effective external quality assurance
• Support the NTP to sustain access to rapid laboratory diagnosis of drug-resistant TB
• Support the NTP to sustain laboratory quality management systems
