FESAR is a civil society, nongovernmental, non-profit organization; our main strength is based in our high technical level and the quality of our services.

FESAR’s Mission:
We are a nongovernmental organization intended to improve Ecuadorians’ respiratory and environmental health, through project implementation, technical assistance, training, research, advocacy, social mobilization and integral attention.

FESAR’s Vision:
To be the Ecuadorian leader organization in respiratory and environmental health, being involved in public policy formulation and implementation; getting strategic partnerships with national and international organizations, and empowering civil society to improve its life quality. All these goals have to be achieved with the support of the expertise, efficiency and humanism of its team.

Our actions are guided by a principle of social solidarity, recognizing health as a basic human right. Our human rights approach is based in our conviction that every human body needs to have the elementary conditions of wellness and enjoy, especially regarding the right to health, to a clean environment and the conditions to breath well

Contribution

Please tell us how your organization will contribute to the Global Plan to Stop TB by briefly describing its involvement in any of the areas of work listed below:

TB Care Delivery:
FESAR has more than 12 years working in this field in Ecuador, formerly with the technical advise from Canadian Lung Association, and then through two different projects form Global Fund. The main objective is to help national government to improve its service through our technical assistance.

Drug-Resistant TB:
FESAR is part of the national TB VIH committee to monitor and decide about new cases. FESAR contributes to patients treatment adherencia and recuperation working directly to support them and to improve their life conditions. FESAR has strengthened some provincial TB affected people networks tp defend their rights.

TB-HIV:

Research:
In the past years we have conducted an important number of operational research to improve TB treatment in prisons and hospitals; and to determine life conditions of people affected by TB.
