Organization Description: |
Centre for Development Action (CDA) is a registered non-profit organization under Societies Act 1860 in India. The agency is registered under Section 6 (1) of Foreign Contribution Regulation Act, 1976, Govt. of India.
Mission:
CDA's "TB Control" strives to work towards the control and eradication of TB by information, education and effective treatment for all as a right.
Objectives
· To raise awareness in the community, amongst the general public, non-specialist health professionals and at-risk groups of TB as a global threat and as a disease resurgent in the country and the region through advocacy and IEC activities. ·To produce patient information and education resources, helping to ensure that patients continue their treatment to completion and avoid the risk of drug resistance; ·To fight discrimination against TB patients and to convert fear and prejudices in the area of TB into acceptance, tolerance and respect. ·To improve patient empowerment and participation and to build the capacity of the community in providing TB care; ·To strengthen regional and local partnerships as an integral part of the advocacy, communication and social mobilization strategies for TB control; To provide leadership and mobilize support through partnerships and networking with like minded agencies/institutions such as NGOs, professional and community-based organizations to implement educational programs on the prevention of TB and the improvement of care for individuals living with TB. ·To promote and advocate rights based approach through development interventions and to propagate awareness of human rights and basic rights of poor and marginalized groups including Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Women and people vulnerable to and living with TB. ·To implement TB control activities by participating in policy and strategy development, operations research, service delivery, monitoring and evaluation

TB Care Delivery: We advocate for DOTS expansion and enhancement in vulnerable communities
