Indian Development Foundation has TB programmes in its expanded focus in the health area. IDF’s excellent communication strategy helped in reaching the masses to create an effective awareness on TB. IDF teams and volunteers visited a large number of schools, colleges, tutorials, Business-Schools, IB Schools, NSS-NCC volunteers to spread the message on TB through audio-visual presentation and interactive sessions. Such awareness programmes are part of IDF’s activities; it got further geared up in full swing to reach several millions of population in India. Campaigns are continued in various rural and urban areas, villages, hamlets and slum pockets through talks, skits, street plays, posters, competitions, pamphlet distribution and supporting the efforts of the government health programmes. IDF reached millions to create awareness on TB by networking with various NGOs, Schools, Colleges, Lions Clubs, Rotary Clubs, Hospitals/ Dispensaries/ PHCs/ Municipalities, Utility Centers, Post Offices, Banks, Insurance companies and other public places; like, Business Schools, Engineering Colleges, Nursing Institutes, Business Houses, Industries and corporate sectors, Public Transport division like state-run buses, auto rickshaws and railways. Indian Development Foundation has been successful in getting endorsement from Grand Master Vishwanathan Anand - Cricket Legend Anil Kumble - India's No.1 Women's Boxing Champion MARY KOM and Tennis Legend LEANDER PAES on the occasion of World TB Day. The icons in their message have complimented the efforts of IDF and its volunteers in disseminating the TB awareness message to millions. IDF has designed a multi-lingual World TB Day poster which has been widely circulated in India. Orchid Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals Ltd. supported IDF TB awareness programme and helped in sponsoring 5.5 million short messages (SMS) through mobile network. Many people responded to the message and sought vital information for TB care and control. Dominos Pizza India Ltd through its teeming volunteers joined IDF in creating awareness across India. The TB awareness programme in educational institutions in India is a ongoing programme of IDF. |

TB Care Delivery: Creating massive awareness among millions in India through large IDF teams designated to carry out TB awareness talks in schools, colleges, educational institutes, management - business schools, communities, housing colonies, banks, insurance cos, industries, religious places etc., including inaccessible villages and rural areas by IDF team
Drug-Resistant TB: Educating the public on the hazards of improper - inadequate - insufficient - irregular and interrupted treatment schedules in all places in India.
TB-HIV: Educating the public on the hazards of improper - inadequate - insufficient - irregular and interrupted treatment schedules in all places in India. Informing about the oppportunistic possibilities of HIV-AIDS.
Laboratory Strengthening: Supporting networking projects in India, through hospitals, health-clinics etc.
New Diagnostics: Educating and prompting people to go for regular check-ups and promoting mass scale awareness programmes.
New TB Drugs: Keeping updated on the new drug possibilities through WHO and StopTB Partnership News.
New TB Vaccines: Keeping updated on the new vaccines possibilities through WHO and StopTB Partnership News.

Declaration of interests:
We as a committed group are fully aware of the danger inherent in escallation of TB. It is in our interest and global interest to make people aware of the scientific facts of TB through designated groups and in a scientific programmed manner to reach all sections of the public and all walks of life in rural and urban areas, thickly populated slums are also covered. IDF has employed several groups including staff members, IDF team, part-time volunteers, social ambassadors, a large number of student volunteers totalling a million. We also employ teachers in various schools and colleges to promote general information about TB so that the public are aware of the danger. Similar talks are given to vulnerable groups, like factory workers, farm workers etc. We hope increase our efforts with the improvement infrastructure and resources. We are committed to support StopTB Partnership.
