The Royal Tropical Institute (KIT) is an independent knowledge centre for international development and intercultural cooperation. Its aims are to contribute to sustainable development, poverty alleviation and cultural preservation and exchange.
KIT contributes to TB control through reserach and technical assistance in the fields of general tb control systems building, health systems strengthening, quality assurance, training, epidemiology and laboratory strengthening.

Contribution

TB Care Delivery:
In collboration with HLSP KIT works as independent M&E agency for TB-REACH funded projects in 60 projects worldwide


Laboratory Strengthening:
KIT contributes to the STOP-TB led development of guidance on strengthening laboratories for TB and Quality assuracne methods.
Furthermore KIT provides TA on lab strengthening in various countries and runs regular courses on laboratory quality assurance.
General TA to TB control programmes in various countries.

Research:
Development of M&E systems to measure effectiveness of new case finding strategies under TB-Reach funded programmes
Developed in collaboration with KNCV and TBCare the QUOTE tool and QUOTE-light tool to measure client satisfaction in TB Care
Developed method to measure workload in TB control
