Organization Description:
NATAB was established in 1948 as an association of Health professionals. Subsequently it expanded its network and started working with the civil society. Starting basically as more of a technical agency on tuberculosis, it took the fight against TB at the grassroots level. Having branches in all 64 districts in Bangladesh, the local committees constitute volunteers who come from all profession and vocations. It organizes annual conference of the volunteers and invites participants from Health NGOs, staffs of development agencies and Government health workers. It works closely with the government and international agencies and represents the professional and realistic views on TB and other related infectious diseases. Presently NATAB is implementing one large project sponsored by GFATM on TB Control and another project on Tobacco Control funded by Bloomberg Initiatives and also working as the Constituent members of IUATLD. NATAB is also one of important members in the Country Coordination Mechanism with the Government.

Please tell us how your organization is contributing to your country's national TB control plan:
In National Tb Control Program NATAB is responsible for country-wide advocacy program with Civil Society. We cover all districts (64) and sub-districts of Bangladesh. We also organize annual conference on tuberculosis every year with all national level doctors, volunteers, government officials, donors, media people, NGO workers and activists of TB control program. These type of activities always help to raise tuberculosis detection rate and also tuberculosis treatment rate.

Please tell us how your organization will contribute to the Global Plan to Stop TB by briefly describing its involvement in any of the areas of work listed below:

TB Care Delivery:
NATAB will always be with global plan. NATAB will do the advocacy part of the DOTS expansion and enhancement to make the program successful. We have vigorous plan from October, 2011 to September, 2012.

Drug-Resistant TB:
NATAB will always be with global plan. NATAB will do the advocacy part of the Drug resistance TB to make the program successful. We are already orienting many civil society members on drug resistance TB. We also have plan to cover 11000 civil society members from October, 2011 to September, 2012.

TB-HIV:
NATAB will always be with global plan. NATAB will do the advocacy part of the TB-HIV to make the national program successful. We are already orienting many civil society members on TB-HIV and develop and distribute one brochure on TB-HIV co-infection. We have plan to cover 1200 civil society members from October, 2011 to September, 2012.
