Organization Description:
Waklisa Development Association was initiated by a group of dedicated and concerned people who came to understand that the Afar community has Educational, socio-economic, and health-related problems, the rationale behind the establishment of the association is to play its role in the creation of healthy and prosperous community regardless of race, religion, and creed.
Waklisa Development Association was established in May 2013 and is legally registered with the Afar Justice Bureau under Proclamation 621/2001 with certificate number 62 under charities and societies. Strive to induce the lifestyle of afar especially the marginalized destitute children, Adolescents, youth, and women.

WDA Head office was located At Awash 7 kilo, Gebiresu zone, Afar regional State, Ethiopia. The office is well-furnished and equipped to operate organizational tasks.

During its embryonic stage, the organization was financed by its members and supporters from abroad contributions to cover its administration and other costs (run the organization) through many progressive activities wakalisa Development Association found grants and funds that enabled it to implement and accomplish fruitful projects.
Previously Wakalisa successfully implemented several projects, among these projects, the WASH project(through water filter distribution, and water cart distribution)., Education, (scholarship for higher education projects, emergency response, and solar electric bulb distribution projects. Now signed an agreement with the Afar regional state Bureau of Health and Afar Finance and Economy Development, to implement ``support in the elimination of viral Hepatitis in Kelat, Angelele, and Hanlidebe Kebeles in Zone 3- Afar. The project mainly focuses on awareness creation sessions, Diagnosis, vaccination and referral, and linkage of the Hepatitis virus.

TB Care Delivery:
Waklisa will enhance Political Commitment[Influencing policy decisions to prioritize TB control.
Public Awareness Campaigns:
Educating the public about TB symptoms, transmission, and prevention.
Disseminating accurate information to combat myths and misconceptions.
Behavior Change Communication (BCC):
Promoting healthy behaviors, such as seeking early diagnosis and adhering to treatment.
Addressing stigma and discrimination associated with TB.



Drug-Resistant TB:

1. developing and disseminating evidence-based guidelines for the use of new TB vaccines.

3. Establishing equitable distribution systems to ensure access for all populations.
4.Integrating TB vaccination into existing immunization programs.
