1. CENSODEV strategic goal is “striving towards mobilizing citizens for Sustainable Development, through good local governance and social accountability Health and Economic Empowerment – (Building Lives and giving hope). CENSODEV envisage, a socially cohesive society that mobilizes itself, network, plan solutions to build community resilience and sustain its future. Mission is to inspire, network and promote community owned development, driven by knowledge social system, inclusiveness and innovation through capacity building initiatives and advocacy by deploying the appropriate (right) strategic approaches for the development of our communities. STRATEGIC AIMS AND OBJECTIVES 2. collaborate to initiate and enhance social accountability processes through Citizens-Government engagements, to achieve good governance, transparency and accountability in effectively promote sustainable health and well-being through Community Mobilization and Education Initiatives (CMEI) on water and sanitation for prevention of diseases, especially in deprived communities. 3. To ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong TB control intervention creating opportunity for learning with like-minded CSOs, support to address the increasing systemic gaps in TB control initiatives

Please tell us how your organization will contribute to the Global Plan to Stop TB by briefly describing its involvement in any of the areas of work listed below: |
TB Care Delivery: Partner with other CSOs Ghana HIV/AIDS Network of Upper East Region to mobilize citizens and sensitize them on stigmatization and care for victims. Educating them also, on Early case detection through quality-assured diagnosis. Initially, great emphasis was given to diagnosis of the most infectious cases of TB (i.e. sputum smear-positive cases of pulmonary TB), detected using sputum smear microscopy. More recently, there has been increasing emphasis on the role of diagnosis based on culture and molecular tests as well as smears, as highlighted in the Laboratory strengthening component of the Global Plan
TB-HIV: As a member of GHAnet our work recognizes that the linkage between People living with HIV are 20 to 37 times more likely to develop TB disease during their lifetimes than people who are HIV-negative.27 HIV and TB are so closely connected that the term ‘co-epidemic’ or ‘dual epidemic’ is often used to describe their relationship, which is also referred to as TB/HIV (or HIV/TB). |
