Organization Description:
The mission of the Long Distance Drivers and Conductors Association (LoDDCA) is to empower and inform drivers and crew members who are part of migrant and key vulnerable populations operating within Kenya and beyond. The main focus of our organization is to ensure that these individuals are healthy while conducting their day-to-day business.

We are interested in tuberculosis (TB) because it poses a significant threat to the health and well-being of our members and the communities they interact with. TB is a highly infectious disease that can spread rapidly among populations with close and prolonged contact, such as those involved in transportation.

To contribute to TB control efforts, LoDDCA is implementing several initiatives:

Awareness Campaigns: We conduct educational campaigns to raise awareness about TB among our members. These campaigns aim to increase knowledge about the signs, symptoms, and transmission of TB, as well as the importance of early detection and treatment.

Screening and Testing: We collaborate with healthcare providers to offer TB screening and testing services to our members. Regular screening helps identify TB cases early, enabling prompt treatment and reducing the risk of transmission.

Access to Healthcare: We advocate for improved access to TB treatment and care for our members. This includes ensuring that they have access to affordable healthcare services and medications, as well as addressing barriers such as stigma and discrimination.

Support Services: We provide support services to TB patients within our community, including assistance with accessing treatment, adherence support, and addressing social and economic challenges that may arise during TB treatment.

Through these efforts, LoDDCA aims to contribute to TB control efforts and promote the health and well-being of our members and the communities they serve.

We work closely with healthcare providers and community organizations to ensure that TB patients receive the holistic support they need to complete their treatment successfully.

Data Collection and Reporting: We actively participate in data collection efforts related to TB within our membership. By reporting TB cases and treatment outcomes, we contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of TB control efforts at the national level. Accurate data helps inform policy decisions, resource allocation, and programmatic adjustments to strengthen TB control efforts.

Through these concerted efforts, LoDDCA plays a crucial role in complementing and enhancing Kenya's national TB control plan. By addressing the specific needs of our membership and communities, we contribute to the overall goal of reducing the burden of TB, improving treatment outcomes, and ultimately working towards the elimination of TB in Kenya.
