1. Mission and Main Focus of TaNPUD
Mission: To empower people who use drugs to participate in community development, policy planning and decision making that affects the lives of People Who use Drugs so as to access to quality treatment health care services and equal rights”
Our main focus is
The main focus of TaNPUD is advocacy for availability and accessibility of harm reduction programs, the promotion and protection of human rights, advocating for the change of criminalized laws and policies which hinders accessibility to health services ( TB,HIV,Hepatitis Prevention, Testing , Treatment and care in the country so to reduce harassment, stigma and discrimination on the people who use drugs.
2. TaNPUD is interested in TB because People Wjo Use Drugs are being criminalized by laws, polices and the community at large, also the behavior risk of drug use contribute to a growing number of PWUD infected by TB, and having no accessibility to health services such as prevention, testing, treatment and care, TaNPUD as a community led PWUD network in Tanzania if engaged in TB programs will be able to advocate for the inclusion of PWUD communities in planning and service delivery of TB services so at to achieve the 90-90-90 targets.
3. We are planning to conduct engagement meetings with PWUD communities to collect their views in regard to TB control
1.To engage the Network-TaNPUD with CSOs-NGOs which are implementing TB programs
2.Conducting sensitizing program to PUWDs on TB prevention, testing, Treatment and care
3.We are conducting advocacy program for the availability and accessibility of TB interventions in the community.
4. To conduct community led monitoring for the Global funds on TB programs
5.To conduct mapping of Tb intervention/services for PWUD
6. Engage Women Who Use Drugs on TB programs
7. To initiate and establish a TB network/organization for PWUDs affected by TB

Also by conducting advocacy on criminalization policies and laws that hinders accessibility to TB services to PWUDs

TaNPUD has been conducting TB advocacy campaigns for People Who Use Drugs in each every Year of TB day of 24 March, by reaching out at Drug user host spots for awareness creation on TB prevention,testing, treatment and care
