The Rescue Initiative (TRI) South Sudan is a National Non-Governmental Organization that works to alleviate suffering among vulnerable communities in South Sudan, in the areas of Health & Nutrition, Water, Hygiene & Sanitation and Conflict Resolution & Peace Building. Established in 2014,TRI-SS is legally registered with the Ministry of Justice (MoJ), with a license of operation from the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management. Currently there is high burden of TB and other lung diseases in South Sudan, access to TB diagnosis and treatment services is very poor especially for high risk and hard-to-reach populations. As a result many people with active TB are not identified and provided timely treatment. Multi-drug resistant TB is now rise affecting mainly the most vulnerable populations. TRI-SS plans to support and strengthen the capacity of MOH to improve access to TB TB and other lung disease screening, diagnosis, treatment and prevention and contribute towards the achievement of the Global 2023-2027 UNHLM Targets.
